Business and private correspondence of the Philo Dibble family who came to Marshall, Michigan in 1835 from New York State. The business papers, 1814-1927, include invoices, bills, receipts, collection bills, promissory notes, contracts, property tax receipts, letters and notes pertaining to the C.P. Dibble & Company, Marshall Savings Bank, Marshall & Coldwater R.R., Marshall and Ionia Plank Road Company, and land transactions in the Marshall and Hastings area. The private correspondence, 1824-1941, consists almost exclusively of family letters. Six small pocket diaries kept by unidentified members of the family, ca. 1857-1895.
